Massage. We all have a certain image that comes to mind when we hear that word. Whether it’s a distant spa resort with rainforests and waterfalls, or perhaps a courtside session before an important game. Whatever comes to mind when you think of massage, I want to offer another experience. One you can access easily, and learn to understand how important massage is for your wellbeing.
Hello, and welcome to Kat’s Massage Clinic Blog. I’m Kat, a newly qualified massage therapist with a passion for helping people learn how to live their lives well. I’m starting these blogs is to give you quick insights into the world of massage and how it can help you. This will also provide a platform to communicate with you, my clients, and hear about what you want to know when it comes to my services. I aim to address many common conditions and the impact that massage has on them. As a practitioner of natural therapies, I believe it is a part of my job to educate my clients on how massage could impact their lives, and how to treat their bodies and live their lives to the highest quality.
One of my goals in life is to continue to learn and educate others on matters that I’m passionate about, and I pride myself on being infinitely curious. The human body is wildly complicated and yet so simple to use. However, we don’t come with a user manual and some of us get it wrong sometimes. That’s where I come in.
Massage to me is about more than just a spa experience, or a pre-game warm up. Massage is a way of connecting with your body and realising how your mind and emotions also influence the way your body functions. As a therapist, I’ve already seen so many clients with emotional or mental tension stored in their muscles that they were unaware of, and that unawareness had caused them physical issues. In this busy world, we sometimes forget to check in with ourselves and see how everything is going, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
This is the start of a series that I will be calling Massage And …, in which I will choose a particular human condition or ailment and discuss how massage can impact it. I will also be writing blogs about other areas concerning massage, like the different types of massage, massage oils and balms, how to self care in between appointments, and other related matters.
Now I want to hear from you! Do you have any issues that impact you directly that you want to know? What conditions do you want to read about? And when was the last time you had a massage?
